Spring is almost here and couples everywhere are thinking about the big proposal. Wondering is this the right time to ask? When should I do it? Not to mention that 29th February is almost upon us and women all over will be taking the bull by the horns this leap year and getting down on one knee too.
Chillisauce.co.uk conducted a survey about wedding proposals and over 10,000 people throughout the UK responded. Here’s what they found:
Weddings are very popular from late spring to autumn months, but winter is the time of year when wedding proposals skyrocket.
Christmas Eve is the most popular day of the year to pop the question even topping Valentine’s Day which came in second! Surprisingly, 33 percent of men believed that Christmas Eve is a much better time to pop the question. In direct contrast, 29 percent of women would prefer a Valentine’s Day proposal. Okay guys, with it being later in the season, this does give you a little more time to get yourselves organized!
Most people were geared towards the Christmas holidays because they saw it as a more romantic time to enjoy their special day together. Also for the added benefit of being around close family and friends who can join in on the celebration.
Potential proposers may want to consider the fact that half of the women in the UK said they’d prefer you to be spontaneous. You don’t need to plan your proposal in fine detail because we want you to get to the point – just say it!
Will you marry me? Simple.
