Matthew has taken the time out to give some valuable advice for your special day. In the beginning stages of planning something magical, he says: “When working with a couple, I work with them to not just plan their wedding, but to get to know them personally as it’s so important to understand them as a couple. A wedding is built on the personality of the couple and nothing else.”

From simple luxury to supreme extravagance, your planner should be able to deliver that special look and feel. For an an atmosphere that speaks so truly of you and the groom, Matthew suggests: “You need to connect with them. Don’t just hire a wedding planner because they planned Beyonce’s wedding. Each planner has a different style and you need to pick one that you get along with. You need to trust them, connect with them and like them as you’ll be working with them throughout the whole process!”

One of the most important questions that needs to be addressed is: What should I do about the entertainment? “Keep it personal and hire entertainers that you like and want to create a fun atmosphere at your wedding. Music is so important as it sets the mood and is a huge part of the day. Think about what your general design is and get a musician/s that works with your creation – for instance, you want a Gatsby themed event, then you should hire a 1920’s act and not a punk band!”

Planning your wedding doesn’t have to be a tedious nightmare. With the right planner and planning strategies, the outcome will most definitely be a triumphant one.
