Tanisha, (a marketing coordinator) and Matthew (a physical therapy aide) met in their freshmen year of high school in 2008. They went to different high schools, but met through a mutual friend and hit it off immediately. After spending countless nights on the phone for hours and going on several dates, Matthew finally asked Tanisha to be his girlfriend. Both experienced the trials and tribulations of their teenage years together, entered adulthood together and graduated from college still at each other’s side.
How He Proposed:
Matthew had wanted to propose to Tanisha for a long time and knew that it would be the perfect present if he did it for her birthday. He asked her parents for permission first and then unexpectedly showed up at a birthday dinner Tanisha was having with her closest girlfriends. He got down on one knee and asked the question he’d been waiting to ask for seven years. The entire restaurant clapped and cheered when she said yes! She immediately called her family and to her surprise they already knew!
