Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor closed India Fashion Week in London’s Excel Centre giving an impressive preview of their stunning designs. Speaking exclusively to Crème de la Bride Anjalee stated that this collection was not a specific range but more towards timeless pieces put together for the London audience from over the last 2 to 3 years. Anjalee also said the thought process in arranging the collection of bridalwear was quite challenging with carefully chosen statement pieces that would look perfect and tell a story on the catwalk.
Anjalee & Arjun’s influences behind the creativity stem from the Parisian Golden era of the 1920s and the Mughal Empire. Amongst the new features were an intricate array of beautiful handcrafted floral embroidery, a soft pastel palette and vintage colourings. The designers both brand themselves on their own sensibilities in every aspect of styling, maintaining their signature features which began 18 years ago based on elegant silhouettes, detailed ornamentation, aesthetics and basic essentials in what characterises an individual style.
Anjalee is now working on the Bridal Week show in India on 23-25 November 2015. With such a heavy work schedule we asked how she unwinds and relaxes away from all the pressures of designing and the answer was, of course, that she becomes a “Spa freak” and after all the pampering the only other way to relax was to “party hard”!
We would love to party with Anjalee, but for now we present our beautiful display of India Fashion Week – closing the show the exquisite and sensational couture designs by Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor. Cue the music!
