We’ve all been there. You’re going away on holiday. You’re excited and can’t wait to escape your 9-5 for some sun and relaxation. This time though, it’s not just any holiday…it’s your honeymoon! The franticness of what you should pack intensifies by a 100!
You don’t want to over pack and at the same time you don’t want to leave your essentials behind. If you are in this situation, you’re in luck as we’ve rounded up 5 essentials you need to pack for your honeymoon.
An inexpensive replica of your wedding ring
You and your husband have just said your I do’s. The long awaited wedding ring is sitting pretty on your wedding finger. At the same time, plans of swimming, hiking, riding horses, camels or whatever animal of choice is part of your honeymoon itinerary, looms.
This is clearly no place for a newly acquired, expensive wedding ring to be. To avoid the dreaded “Uhh honey, have you seen my wedding ring?” Be sure to buy a less expensive wedding ring to wear when you’re out and about, to avoid misplacing your ring. Keep your real ring in a safe in the hotel room.

Okay, so you just got married last week, two days ago or whatever the short time period is between your wedding and honeymoon. And ya’ll are trying to start a family already?
I think not.
Make sure to pack some contraception, whether it be condoms or birth control pills because you don’t know how easily accessible it will be at your honeymoon destination.
Travel size toiletries
Packing for a holiday is stressful. Let alone a honeymoon! There may come a time that you’ve got bulky toiletries just about tip-toeing into your luggage to reach that feared maximum weight size! Here’s a tip to avoid this struggle. You can get travel size toiletries that can easily fit in your hand luggage. Currently, Superdrug are doing a 3 for £3 on selected minis. This way you don’t have to go without your favourite deodorant or shampoo on your honeymoon whilst having more room for more important items.
Photo ready clothing!
Do you really want to look back at your honeymoon photos and think “Hmmm…yea…why did I wear that top”? A perfect example of a sentimental photo lessened by a bad outfit decision. Here is a way to avoid this. Way before your honeymoon, be on the lookout for suitable clothing to wear. Catch the sales and gradually start buying clothing that you think will look good on holiday. Make sure to try on the clothes before you buy them! This way you can truly see if they fit. Also, have an outfit plan in mind to make shopping easier.
An Instant photo camera
Okay, so maybe I’m a tad bit biased but I looovee these things. It’s so 90s but just as hip for today. In a day and age where we look at photos on hand held devices, it’s nice to actually have a physical photo to look at. If you have no clue what I’m talking about, I’m going on about those instant Polaroid cameras from back in the day.
I think this is a wonderful way to remember a special time between you and your beloved. These cameras allow you to easily take tons of credit card size photos that will last a lifetime. Afterwards you can keep the photos in your wallet or create a photo album. Whatever you choose, you will have wonderful physical photo memories of you and your spouse from a special time.
Check out Amazon for these fun cameras.
